Parsippany, NJ, April 16, 2024 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) — Lincoln Educational Services Corporation (NASDAQ: LINC), a pivotal corporation in specialized technical training for over 75 years, has proudly announced the awarding of scholarships to two distinguished Automotive Service & Technology students at their campus situated in Melrose Park, IL, a Chicago suburb. This particular campus stands as a testament to Lincoln Tech’s enduring legacy, boasting a consistent record of high placement rates for its graduates alongside fortified partnerships with local employers.

The scholarship recipients, Martiez Caffey and Dalia Alvarez, are the honored winners of the Lawrence Arthur Pritchett Memorial Scholarship Award, courtesy of funding from the Lincoln Foundation for Education, Inc. (LiFE). Pritchett, a cherished Chicagoan, was celebrated for his mechanical prowess and enjoyed a fulfilling career filled with passion. His journey spanned over three decades at the Amoco Oil Company (currently BP), where he ascended from a truck mechanic to the esteemed position of Senior Manager of Fleet Operation and Repairs. His family inaugurated the scholarship in his memory, aiming to support aspiring students dedicated to pursuing a career in the industry he loved deeply.

Martiez Caffey shared his lifelong fascination with automobiles, emphasizing the scholarship’s role in realizing his dreams without imposing financial strain on his family. “This scholarship will help me achieve my childhood goal and is also a huge burden lifted from my mother. After I graduate, I can work on trucks and pursue my CDL license, thanks to Lincoln Tech and this incredible scholarship opportunity!” he expressed.

Dalia Alvarez reflected on her early dreams of delving into the automotive and racing sectors, noting that Lincoln Tech’s training empowers her to pursue her ambitions fiercely. Karen Clark, President of Lincoln Tech’s Melrose Park campus, remarked, “It’s an honor for us to be able to help commemorate Mr. Pritchett’s legacy through these awards. And we couldn’t think of two more deserving students than Martiez Caffey and Dalia Alvarez.”

The criteria for this prestigious award included an excellent GPA and consistent attendance, showcasing the students’ dedication to their future careers. Michael Pritchett, Lawrence’s son, underscored the importance of supporting students who share his father’s enthusiasm for automobiles, emphasizing that the scholarship aligns perfectly with his father’s vision.

The demand for skilled, trained Automotive Service Technicians in Illinois is on the rise, with the U.S. Department of Labor’s Bureau of Labor Statistics projecting over 2,900 annual openings. Lincoln Tech’s Melrose Park campus is steadfast in graduating adept technicians to meet this growing need.
